Mission Statement

The mission of Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary is to prepare a diverse body of leaders for service in the Presbyterian Church (USA), churches within the Reformed theological family in North, Central and South America, and in the Reformed and Presbyterian churches of Africa.

Enriched by the Holy Spirit and informed by its heritage and ecumenical setting, Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary shall be a seminary of choice, equipping pioneering leaders to participate in God’s reformation of the church and the world.
